Dr. Venkat Aitharaju is a Staff Researcher in Polymer Composites at General Motors Global Research and Development. He is currently responsible for development of advanced math modeling tools for simulation of composite materials. He has obtained his Bachelors from National Institute of Technology Warangal, India, Masters from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, and Doctorate from Michigan State University.

Venkat has over 18 years of experience in General Motors in the area of design, manufacturing and CAE of metals and composites. He represented GM in the Automotive Composites Consortium Energy Management Working Group for several years, guiding several research projects with university and industry towards developing predictive math modeling of composite materials for energy absorption.

Dr. Aitharaju is currently the Principal Investigator for a multi-year Department of Energy Project titled "Development and Integration of Predictive Models for Manufacturing and Structural Performance of Carbon Fiber Composites in Automotive Applications".
